PLATADEPALO cotton sarong printed with leaves, using the batik technique, in light grey and turquoise. Size 107 x 103 cms. Batik is one of the various "reserve dyeing techniques". It is used to colour fabrics and consists of applying layers of wax on the areas that are not to be dyed (reserved areas), fixing the anilines in those areas that are not reserved. Indonesian batik, from which our Sarongs come, was inscribed in 2009 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO. Designed by PLATADEPALO and handcrafted in Bali.
